We're looking to expand our board!
Member at large position
The Untitled Ensemble Chamber Music Society performs western classical chamber music that reflects the diversity of our city (Toronto) and celebrates the voices of composers whose music wasn't and isn't played because of their gender, race, ethnicity, or sexuality. We're looking to expand our board to include someone with a strong background in fundraising and organizing musical groups and events. Ideally, you would have experience serving on the board for a not-for-profit, and have experience writing grants and fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Attend quarterly board meetings, and one on one meetings with various board members as required to organize events and operation of the board.
- Offer suggestions and discussions related to board business.
- Research for opportunities related to publicity and inclusion of the Untitled Ensemble in various festivals or events in the GTA.
- Research available grants and timelines appropriate to our organization.
- Write and review grant applications in partnership with the Artistic Director.
- Assist Marketing Lead with various marketing strategies for the Untitled Ensemble.
- Attend in-person events such as concerts featuring the Untitled Ensemble when possible. (Tickets will be compensated)
- Help with setup for concerts and ticket taking from time to time.
- Promote the ensemble within your network, especially around events.
- Guide volunteers with various tasks.
Qualifications
- Previous not-for-profit or charity board experience
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Comfortable using various online tools for collaboration such as Google Drive, Meet, email, etc.
- Fundraising and grant writing experience
